I love this. This is currently my thing. I find left over pieces of wood and look for images in the grain. Ever since I was a little girl I would see faces and creatures in the old wood paneling that was used to line rooms. I didn’t learn until adulthood that the surrealists used to do a similar thing called fumage. They would hold paper or canvas over a kerosene lamps capturing the smoke. Anyway, I love working like this.
